further news: Judge blocks release of city report on McDade shooting. Pasadena Police Officers’ Association asked for the report to be blocked. Their attorney, Richard Shinee, wrote an email to the consultants who wrote the report, the city attorney’s office, & the Pasadena police department: “I am told, but have not been able to confirm, that you link these police officers’ names to their discipline history and reference prior internal affairs investigations that involve them.” Shinee went on to write that the release of the report would violate “the police officers’ rights to privacy …”

(because why would it be relevant that these murdering assholes have a history of discipline issues and prior internal affairs investigations??? multiple IA investigations, followed by executing an unarmed kid & lying about it…but their right to privacy supersedes the public’s right to have police officers who aren’t murderous lying criminals with a documented history of shady bullshit.)

This scene is SO important. Maleficent is with someone she trusts, someone she considers a friend. And then the next thing she knows, she wakes up in pain, bleeding, with her wings burned off. A huge part of her has been destroyed.

Rape is so prominent in our culture that it is in a Disney movie. Maybe not explicitly, but it is very clear what this scene represents and it is so sad.

I fucking cried my eyes out during this scene

AJ even confirmed that this is what this scene was a metaphor for (x) - just because i saw someone say today that this is not what this scene is about

'We were very conscious that it was a metaphor for rape': The actress explained how the scene in which her character has her wings ripped off her body while in a drug-induced sleep had to be something 'so violent and aggressive' that it would make her 'lose all sense of her maternity, her womanhood and her softness'

The original hawk used to play Mordecai was kidnapped during shooting and held for ransom - production could not wait for him to be returned which is the reason that the bird that appears later in the movie has “more white feathers” - it’s a different bird. (x)
